Learning Communities for School Success Program (LCSSP)

The goals of the LCSSP are to support evidence-based, non-punitive programs and practices to keep the state’s most vulnerable pupils in school. These programs and practices must complement and enhance the actions and services identified to meet the LEA’s goals per the LEA’s LCAP.

More Information

LCSSP and Wellness Coach grant funds are supporting the systems and structures to maintain positions by (1) leveraging all positions under PICO and (2) maximizing billing through the Children Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI).  By year three of the Learning Communities School Success grant funding, PICO will have positions partly funded under CYBHI in our work to sustain positions, strategies, and student supports beyond grant funds.  These positions of “Behavioral Health Peer Specialist” support with prevention, case management, and intervention support to positively impact attendance, academics, and improved behavior outcomes.  By providing a mentor as a caring adult, we are able to support students, parents, and school communities.
