Dear JUSD Community,

I would like to share with my community ̶ and particularly the Trustee Area 3 of Jurupa Unified School District ̶ that I will be moving out of the area in the near future and have decided to resign from the JUSD Board of Education effective February 18, 2026. As such, the February 17th board meeting will be my last meeting as a JUSD Trustee.

It is a choice of family taking precedence over everything else. My son has begged me for several years to complete his vision of our extended family living on the same property, and that is coming to fruition. My husband and I cannot resist the opportunity to become that close a part of our new grandchild’s life! We’re packing up the house and cleaning out the barn!

One of my guiding principles in life always has been “be the change you want to see.” My parents taught this to me as volunteers in our community since my childhood, so when the opportunity to serve my community as a trustee to the Jurupa Unified School District Board of Education appeared, I stepped up. That was nine years ago, and many momentous things happened since that time, being part of a united team responsible for shaping the futures of some 20,000 lives at a time.

My focus always has been supporting the students toward graduation: JUSD is a safe, accepting place for each; we provide preparation for adulthood, whether college or another pathway. I’ve always been a huge fan of technical training. I’ve always bragged our graduation rate is an enviable 93 per cent!

Thank you for entrusting me with the care of your students.

Karen Bradford, M.A.

Trustee, Area 3 JUSD Board of Education
