Jurupa Unified’s Digital Gateway initiative ensures every student in grades 2–12 is equipped with a Chromebook to use both at school and at home. Each device is protected with up-to-date monitoring and web filtering, keeping students safe while they learn and explore online.
Digital Gateway will:
Launched in 2016 and funded by short-term financing proceeds from Measure EE—the facilities bond approved by district voters in November 2014—the Digital Gateway program remains fully funded for the life of each Chromebook device. Every year, thousands of Jurupa Unified students benefit from continuous access to technology, personalized support, and equitable opportunities to learn with modern digital tools.
According to Joshua Erickson, who teaches at Jurupa Valley High School:
“My curriculum hasn't changed. My delivery has. The result is that more students are engaged. And that has made all the difference in my classroom.”
Elizabeth Wells, a teacher at Mira Loma Middle School, is also supportive:
“Going 1:1 means more than avoiding the hassle of signing up for the computer lab and the inconvenience of dragging heavy laptop carts to and from the classroom. It means that all students will have access to learning with tools that will prepare them for their futures. It means they will develop skills that they will need to participate in a global society. It means we are providing equitable opportunities and are also committed to producing members of a skilled workforce.”
