Provisional Board Appointment

At their meeting on Tuesday, February 17, members of the Jurupa Unified School District Board of Education voted to initiate a provisional appointment process to fill a vacancy left by Trustee Karen Bradford, who resigned from the Board effective February 18, 2026.

Mrs. Bradford served on the Board of Education since 2017. Her term was due to expire in December 2026. The individual appointed to fill the vacant Trustee Area 3 seat will finish the remainder of the term. The application for the open Board seat is available online at https://bit.ly/JUSDprovisionalappt26 or may be picked up in person at the Jurupa Unified School District’s Education Center, 4850 Pedley Road in Jurupa Valley.

Applications will be accepted through the end of the business day (4:30 p.m.) on March 6, 2026. An ad hoc committee consisting of two Board trustees will screen the applications to determine qualified candidates. Qualified candidates must be interviewed by the Board of Education in a public meeting that will be announced after the application period closes.

“The Board of Education thanks Mrs. Bradford for her many years of service and dedication to the students, staff, and families of Jurupa Unified,” said Board of Education President Melissa Ragole. “Mrs. Bradford's broad knowledge, leadership, and commitment to putting students first have left a legacy of excellence that will positively impact our district for many years to come. As the seniormost member of our Governing Board, Mrs. Bradford took newer trustees under her wing and provided guidance and wisdom to help them succeed in their roles. We thank Mrs. Bradford for her years of service and wish her the very best.”

“We are grateful to Mrs. Bradford for serving our JUSD community and the Jurupa Valley community at large with distinction,” stated JUSD Superintendent Dr. Trenton Hansen. “Mrs. Bradford’s experience, passion, mentorship, and advocacy have led to many positive outcomes for our students, families, and community throughout her tenure, and we thank her for her service.”
