As I reflect on the events of the past week, I want to take a moment to personally thank each of you. Your support, empathy, flexibility, and resilience have been truly remarkable. Most importantly, your dedication to putting our students first is deeply appreciated.
Last week presented numerous challenges: record-breaking heat, poor air quality from wildfires, and threats of violence targeting schools across California and the nation. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with so many issues at once. However, amid these difficulties, I’ve seen the strength and positivity of our community.
Here’s what I observed last week in JUSD:
The joy on Ina Arbuckle Elementary students' faces as they received books from the Helpful Honda team.
Patriot High School students sharing their gratitude for their JUSD experience and the opportunities it provides.
Our Maintenance and Operations team working tirelessly all weekend to repair air conditioning units affected by the extreme heat.
Families ensuring their students were present and ready to learn each day.
Beyond our district, I’ve been inspired by the collaborative spirit of my colleagues, who have come together to address challenges by sharing resources and support. I’ve also seen the bravery of our firefighters and first responders, who risked their safety to protect our communities. Lastly, I am deeply grateful to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for their dedication to ensuring our school campuses remain safe.
At the core of our efforts is a shared goal: a brighter future for our students. This week’s collaboration, hard work, and resilience have been a testament to our theme for the year, “Level Up JUSD!” Your commitment and excellence embody what it truly means to be part of Jurupa Unified School District.
Thank you again for your continued support and dedication.
Warm regards,
