Informational Fact Sheet for Black History Month
JUSD is proud to celebrate Black History Month. This year, our African American Parent Advisory Council and Patriot High School teacher Marissa King have worked together to prepare informational fact sheets related to this year’s Black History Month theme, “African Americans and Labor”. You can find these fact sheets on this webpage.
According to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, this year's theme, “focuses on the various and profound ways that work and working of all kinds – free and unfree, skilled, and unskilled, vocational and voluntary – intersect with the collective experiences of Black people.”
In addition, please keep an eye out for social media posts highlighting our students’ perspectives on Black History Month.
