JUSD Music Programs Earn Honors

Jurupa Unified School District music programs have earned multiple awards from the non-profit Music For All organization.

JUSD’s middle and high school instrumental music programs won an Advocacy in Action: Recruitment, Engagement, and Retention award for the 2024 District Wind Band Festival. The award honors JUSD middle and high school music programs for providing an adjudicated music festival in which middle school students could participate. The February event was a fun and engaging experience, which helped students earn important feedback and ratings, while also uplifting them with a chance to earn recognition for their hard work.

A second 2025 Advocacy in Action Award went to Rubidoux High School’s instrumental music and color guard. RHS earned the honor in the community involvement category for efforts to help the community through the Toy Drive for the Holidays program. This program, developed by students, helps engage the community and brighten the holidays for children in need. For the past seven years, the RHS instrumental music and color guard programs, led by Director Sarah Choi, have worked to collect toys for less fortunate children in the Jurupa Valley community. The toys have gone to various nonprofit organizations, most recently Jurupa Valley Adopt A Family.
