Is an insurance option available?
Parents may wish to carry their own third-party insurance to protect the Chromebook in cases of accidental damage. Most home owner's insurance will not cover a lost Chromebook; however, you may want to review your insurance policy. For convenience, we have included information on Chromebook insurance through School Device Coverage (1). Full coverage is available for $39 per year. Coverage includes accidental damage, cracked screen, liquid submersion, fire, flood, theft, and loss. If parents choose not to carry third-party insurance and the Chromebook is damaged or stolen, they will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the Chromebook.

If my Chromebook is damaged will a loaner device be covered under the policy?
The policy is specific based on the serial number. After a claim is filed, if the family wants to extend the coverage to a loaner device, parents may call School Device Coverage at 1.888.978.3515 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to transfer coverage to the loaner device. Parents will need to change the serial number back once the original device is returned. Loaner devices will be provided from school libraries.
Is there a limit to the number of insurance claims?
There is no limit to the number of claims that can be filled during the term of the policy.
