Jurupa

The Jurupa Unified School District, nestled along the Santa Ana River, covers 47 square miles in Riverside County, enrolling more than 19,000 students. The district, which comprises 25 schools serving pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, evolved from a one-room adobe schoolhouse built in 1856.

Jurupa Unified is known today for balancing the amenities of a large school district with the personal attention to students, parents and community usually found in smaller operations. The district prizes accessibility and a broad range of programs designed for students of every level and background.

The district's priorities include ensuring: academic excellence, practical foundations for college and careers, individualized student care, and community and family support.

Many JUSD programs emphasize academics, enrichment and hands-on training. Examples include Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum, Dual Immersion language instruction, music and arts education, a new online middle and high school (Rivercrest), and a host of career technical education (CTE) programs.
