Local, State, and Federal Programs
In the Jurupa Unified School District, the following programs are a part of the Consolidated Application and have specific purposes.
Federal Programs Descriptions
Title I The purpose of Title I is to provide supplemental funds to school sites (grades Pre-K through 12) to narrow the educational gap between disadvantaged children and other children, especially in areas with high concentrations of low-income families. The goal is to ensure all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach minimum proficiency. Title I funds are allocated to schools based on the percentage of their low-income population.
Title II The purpose of Title II is to provide supplemental activities that strengthen the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders, including:
  • Increase student achievement consistent with challenging state academic standards
  • Improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and school leaders
  • Increase the number of effective educators in improving student achievement
  • Provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective educators
Title II funds may be used for induction programs, professional development, support for professional growth, equitable access, and recruitment for hard-to-find educator positions. These funds supplement district funding for professional development.
Title III Title III helps ensure that English Learner (EL) students, including immigrant children and youth, attain English Language Proficiency and meet the same challenging state academic standards as all students. Funds may be used for instructional support, curriculum development, parental involvement, and related program activities for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.
