It is my pleasure to continue to serve as Camino Real's principal! I can't believe I get to stay at the school I have taught at for 6 years. Camino is my happy place! This will be my sixth year in educational leadership. Prior to becoming principal, I was the Assistant Principal here for a year and a half, and I also served as the Elementary Director of a K-8 school in Orange County for four years. Additionally, I was a teacher for 17 years. I have served on a myriad of teams and positions including; Intervention, NGSS, Leadership, Admin Designee, PBIS and AVID. Even with these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart. My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Service with an emphasis in Elementary Education and Counseling, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State University Fullerton, a Master's of Education from National University and a Master in Education Administration at the University of Irvine. As a lifelong learner, I hope to be an example to students and teachers that we should never stop learning and growing.
I have been married for 22 years to my college sweetheart. We are blessed with three children, Michael, Mia and Brooke. Michael is in his second year at RCC, Mia is in her first year at Chico State and Brooke is my 8th grader who keeps me busy as her competitive cheer team rep. I have the same expectations for them as I do your children, who I love as if they are my own; work hard, try your personal best, learn from your mistakes and be kind. I want to see all of our children excel and become successful adults, who have ample opportunity to be college and career ready.
It is my privilege to lead Camino Real Elementary and the many talented teachers, staff and students. My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at Camino that is conducive to teaching the whole child. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with our Camino families, and all stakeholders in our school community this year!
