Awards, Awards, and More Awards

We have two Panther Educators that have received awards this month!

Anthony Gomez was recognized by the Inland Empire Council for Social Studies as a 2018 Educator of Excellence. He was honored at an awards dinner on December 6th at the RCOE Conference Center with Dr. Judy White, RCOE Superintendent, as the evening's keynote speaker.

Mr. Gomez and the other teachers being recognized that evening are educators who: inspire students to perform at high levels and show good citizenship, use creative strategies to fully engage students, demonstrate broad content knowledge, promote advanced social-science thinking, shows leadership beyond school, help students participate in opportunities such as History Day, living history, services learning, or Mock Trails, and is a recognized team player.

Cindy Viehmann has been recognized as being our Jurupa Middle School Classified Employee of the Year! Cindy was recognized at the Board meeting on December 10th at 6:00 pm in the Patriot High School Theater.

As many of us know, Cindy is a positive role model for our Jurupa Middle School students and is also on our school's Positive School Culture Committee, Staff Club, School Site Council, and runs a Book Club for our students; Cindy makes sure to include our students in the moderate/severe special education program at JMS West in Book Club meetings. Cindy is always cheerful and upbeat no matter the situation, and her positive attitude is contagious! Because of Cindy, our library is the heart and soul of our campus, hosting student awards ceremonies, staff meetings, parent classes, and after-school tutoring. Cindy is not only a positive member of the JMS staff, but also works collaboratively with the library techs from Mission Middle and Mira Loma Middle School to ensure that the middle school registration days go smoothly and also presented at our JUSD Summer Jam. Cindy is the epitome of a Proud Panther, and we are honored to have her as a part of our staff.
