Important Information for Parents and Guardians:
Promotion:
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold a promotion ceremony this year, however, Del Sol's staff and student leaders would like to say farewell to our 8th grade class on May 27th, at 2 PM. As we get closer to the date, we will post information on how to access our online virtual goodbye party.
Spring Pictures:
We have learned that Studio 1 is delivering spring pictures to households by Tuesday, May 19th. Please call Studio 1 directly at 909-944-9536 or text 413-287-1234 if you have questions.
Yearbooks:
Lifetouch yearbooks are in the process of being printed, however, COVID19 social distancing measures have slowed down production. We anticipate distributing yearbooks once school resumes in August. Rest assured, if you have purchased a yearbook, you will receive a yearbook.
Locker Room Items:
Once school reopens, we will determine a process for retrieving items from lockers and distributing to students. We will notify students and parents of the process after we return to campus.
Students who are Withdrawing:
If you need to withdraw your student, now or over the summer, please notify Del Sol's registrar, Xochilt Cardenas, at xochilt_cardenas@jusd.k12.ca.us and call the Education Center at (951) 360-4100 to schedule a time to return student Chromebooks, chargers, textbooks and other items to complete the drop process.
Students Retrieving Items from Classrooms:
Once school reopens, we will determine a process for retrieving and returning items to students.
Middle School Electives:
We will provide middle school students (grades 6-8) an online survey to complete regarding elective choices within the next week or two.
Sixth Grade Orientation:
We will conduct a virtual middle school orientation meeting for current fifth grade students and their parents, to help with the transition from elementary to middle school. Please keep checking in on Dojo for a date and time.
Back to School Night:
We are holding Back to School Night over two evenings due to limited parking and the large number of parents and students who attend. We hope this change will make the evening more relaxing and enjoyable for you and your family. Please note the following BTSN dates and times:
Wednesday, August 5th
5:00 -6:00 PM: Grades TK-2
6:30- 7:30 PM: Grades 3-5
Thursday, August 6th
6:00-7:20 PM Grades 6-8
Grades:
Middle school students will receive a credit/no credit grade for third trimester classes. Grades are based on student progress as of March 13, 2020 (last day of school). Any work completed after this date may enhance the grade, but not hurt it.
Students, grades K-5, will receive third trimester grades. Grades are based on student learning at the end of second trimester. Any work completed this trimester may improve a grade, but not hinder it.
New Students:
If you have a TK, Kinder or first grade student coming to Del Sol in the fall, please follow this link to complete the online pre-registration process. https://q.jusd.k12.ca.us/LIve/preenroll Parents will be able to finalize the process once the district office has reopened. Please know, as long as you live within our boundary area, your child will have a spot at Del Sol. In the meantime, completing the pre-enrollment form will help us with planning for next year.
