It has come to our attention that some children are hearing from the Internet, the media or one another about the Momo challenge. It is important to note that new challenges are arising on the Internet all the time, and we look to you, our families, to start the important conversation with your children about making safe decisions while online.
While there is currently no evidence that this particular challenge has resulted in direct harm to children, we do think it is important to understand and to be aware of current social media challenges, as well as how to best approach these types of challenges with your children. Below is some information to help you understand this Internet hoax:

Our technology department is also aware of the issue. All social media sites and instant messaging are already blocked on all student devices. As an added precaution, we have blocked the keywords MOMO from internet searches, YouTube keyword searches and URL's. We have also blocked the telephone number allegedly used for this challenge on WhatsApp and creepypasta, as well as the entire gaming category.
