Jurupa Unified School District's Head Start Program is funded by Riverside County Office of Education through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, and the State Preschool is funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division. HeadStart/Preschool is a part-day educational program serving young children turning three or four by September 1, 2016. Priority is given to the children turning four by September 1st. The Head Start/Preschool program provides services to low-income families and serves children with disabilities. The program provides supportive services, including parent education, health, nutrition services and parent and community involvement. Transportation is not provided.
Head Start/Preschool is located at nine elementary sites and one School Readiness facility in the district.
For families interested in applying please complete the Interest form found here and return to the School Readiness Center located 5960 Mustang Lane. An application will be given to you to complete.
A completed physical one year prior to enrollment or within 30 days of enrollment is a licensing requirement of the Head Start/Preschool program. For your convenience the required physical form is located in the documents and forms folder. This form is to be completed by the enrolling child's physician.
Recruitment for the current year is ongoing. Applications are accepted and certification appointments are made through the entire year. If enrollment is full, we maintain a waitlist and promptly place students from the waitlist once a space becomes available. Waitlist placement is placed based on need.
