Van Buren hosted the annual "Touch a Truck" event, offering a unique opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles and learn about the important jobs associated with them.
The school grounds were transformed into an interactive display featuring an impressive lineup of vehicles, including a fire truck, sheriff's car, tow truck, garbage truck, semi-truck, and a construction truck. Adding to the diversity, district maintenance vehicles and district nutrition services vehicles were also on hand, giving students a glimpse into the many facets of school operations.
Children eagerly climbed into cabs, honked horns (with permission, of course!), and asked questions of the drivers and operators, gaining firsthand insight into what it takes to operate these essential machines. The event provided a fun and educational experience, sparking curiosity about different careers and fostering a deeper understanding of the roles these vehicles play in our community. By all accounts, "Touch a Truck" was a truly great event, enjoyed by students and staff alike!
