Our Mission

The mission of Stone Avenue School is to foster the successful educational and social development of our students.  We do this by holding high expectations, inspiring a love of life-long learning, and instilling a commitment to excellence in our students.

Stone Avenue opened in September in 1993 with an enrollment of 467 students and has grown to a current enrollment of 807  students in grades TK-6. Our Stone Avenue family is comprised of:  31 classroom teachers, 2 full time intervention teachers, 1 Resource Specialist, along with 23 support staff members.  Approximately 67.55 % of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Stone Avenue Elementary was recognized as a Title 1 Academic Achievement School in 2009, 2010 and 2013.

Our Dual Immersion program is designed to develop bilingualism and biliteracy in English and in Spanish. This is a voluntary program. Instruction is provided by highly trained and specialized teachers. Students learn California standards in all subject areas, and become linguistically and academically fluent in two languages.  This year we will have two: Kinder First, Second, Third. And Fourth grade Dual Immersion classes.
