JUSD would like to welcome Trustee-elect Melissa Ragole, from Trustee Area 5, and re-elected Board of Education member Robert Garcia, of Trustee Area 1, to the Jurupa Unified School Board.  Under their leadership, we will continue to create strong, educationally sound programs to help all students learn without limits.

We also thank the voters of Jurupa Valley for participating in our democratic process to determine the direction of our school board.

Trustee-elect Melissa Ragole believes in teamwork, community, and bringing stakeholders together to find solutions. She plans to focus on supporting teachers as they work in the classroom with students, preserving strong pathway programs to create future workplace leaders, and ensuring that school safety remains a top priority.

Trustee Robert Garcia has been a strong advocate of all JUSD students and programs.  He has focused on supporting programs that ensure opportunities for our students and provide a range of learning experiences. Mr. Garcia's top priority has been graduation rate improvement in three steps:

  • Communication:  Stakeholder communication - transparency
  • Education:  Focus on STEM/Arts and Humanities
  • Parent Involvement:  Involve parents early and build a lasting foundation

Both Ms. Ragole and Mr. Garcia have spent years giving back to our community and we are grateful to have them on our team, working on behalf of Jurupa Unified students.  They will begin their term on December 7.
