Past Student Crowned Miss Rodeo California

Amanda Hop, Miss Rodeo California 2018

Van Buren is proud of their past student, Amanda Hop, who was recently crowned Miss Rodeo California.  Amanda represented the Jurupa Valley Pro rodeo at the October pageant and began her reign on January 1st by riding in the Rose Parade.  Being the youngest of four children, Amanda knew it was going to take a lot of hard work and determination to accomplish her goals.

At the age of 5 she followed in her sister’s footsteps and competed in her first pageant, that is when she knew someday she wanted to become Miss Rodeo America.  After holding many titles she is proud to be able to represent her hometown of Jurupa Valley at the Miss Rodeo California Pageant. Being a rodeo ambassador and sharing the cowboy lifestyle has led her to pursue an education in teaching with an emphasis in agriculture.  At 21, she is excited to take this journey and would like to thank her family and all of her supporters for allowing her to get one step closer to fulfilling her goals.

Amanda was able to visit her third grade teacher, Mrs. Edwards, and past rodeo queen, Ms. Schmidt, during Read Across America week.

Van Buren wishes Amanda the best of luck on her journey as Miss Rodeo California!  To learn more about her travels, view www.MissRodeoCalifornia.com.
